I grew up pretty sedentary, didn't do sports, ate lots of fast food, etc. When I did try being active in college I injured my back and dealt with chronic pain and accepted the fact that I would always hurt. I finally started going to a chiropractor who suggested I needed strength/core training and referred me to Sarah. I was anxious about "working out" and almost cancelled my first appointment a couple times. She was kind, modified exercises to accommodate my back, encouraged me to keep going, and pushed me just enough. During sessions she shared tips and advice for becoming stronger, physically and mentally. I've been seeing her every week for over a year now and I feel so much stronger. My back rarely hurts, I've been able to hike and run around with my kids, and I feel more self confident in who I am and who I can become. I decided to start working with a trainer because I needed help developing workouts that would help me achieve my fitness goals and I needed to be sure I was doing those exercises correctly with proper technique so I wouldn't injure myself.
The first time I met with Sarah, I was impressed with the thoroughness of her questions. She really probed to understand my fitness goals, what I enjoyed, any injuries and/or physical restrictions, etc.
Her workouts for me are just as thoughtful and actually feel personalized and tailored to me! She keeps our workouts fresh, finding new routines which are safe for my body. I've had a couple different trainers in the past and everything always seemed very cookie cutter. She's great at pushing me to see my physical potential all while keeping things positive and fun. I really enjoyed the one to one gym atmosphere and having personalized routines that were tailored to my lifestyle. The gym and having Shabana as a personal trainer made working out fun and enjoyable and feel less intimidating. I was welcomed back into the workout scene, and each week I saw myself progressing with the routines given to me. I was taught proper form and Shabana really took her time teaching me that. The gym itself is very comfortable and not intimidating, it is very welcoming. I absolutely love that this gym is strictly one on one. I have Shabana’s complete focus during workouts. Since I started training at Bellator Fitness three times a week with Shabana, I have noticed a huge increase in my strength, stamina, and endurance. As a hiker this is important, I can climb steeper hills and mountains, and hike more miles with fewer breaks to catch my breath or cool down.
